Our small shellfish farm is located at the mouth of the Mystic River in Noank, Connecticut.

We named our company after Sixpenny Island, which is a small marshy spot where the Mystic River joins Fishers Island Sound. Every time we work our oysters, we circumnavigate Sixpenny Island.

We grow our oysters entirely in bag and cage systems. Our oyster bags float just below the surface in the summer, giving oysters maximum access to food and opportunity to grow (like crazy). During the winter we put our oysters to bed on the bottom for safe keeping. Ours is a low impact system that produces a lovely flavorful product.
